Challenge
VDL Car Hire operated with a basic website that only displayed cars and accepted booking requests through a form. There was no real-time availability, pricing confirmation, or automation in place. This meant the team relied heavily on manual processes, paperwork, and back-and-forth communication, which slowed down operations and limited their ability to deliver a smooth customer experience in a highly competitive car rental market.
Project
We partnered with VDL Car Hire to deliver a complete digital transformation of their rental workflow. The goal was to move away from manual processes and build a custom booking engine tailored to their business. The project included a fully integrated website with live availability and pricing, an advanced backoffice system, and features designed to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency across every step of the rental journey.
Strategy
Our strategy was to deliver the project in phases, ensuring every feature aligned with the client’s evolving needs. We integrated key tools like Stripe for automated payments, SMS and email notifications for instant communication, and a smart backoffice for managing quotes, bookings, transfers, and customer data. This interconnected system allowed the VDL team to streamline tasks while providing a modern, user-friendly experience for customers.
Results
VDL Car Hire successfully transitioned from a paper-based operation to a fully digital platform. From bookings to vehicle delivery and collection, everything is now managed seamlessly, including digital signatures, photo and video records, and automated customer updates.
