Innovative approach to integrating technology

Challenge

Encosta do Lago’s previous website was outdated, with poor UX and no booking engine or channel manager integration. Customers could only browse, forcing most reservations through third-party platforms like Booking.com and Expedia, which meant high commissions and limited direct engagement. The resort needed a modern, conversion-focused website that aligned with current customer expectations while enabling direct bookings.

Project

We rebuilt the Encosta do Lago website from the ground up, delivering a custom WordPress solution with an integrated booking engine connected to their channel manager. The design was fully refreshed to reflect the resort’s premium positioning, with new content and an updated SEO strategy. Key features included real-time availability, Stripe payments, and a tailored booking flow that matched the hospitality industry’s specific needs.

Strategy

Our strategy centered on improving conversions and customer experience. To address high-value stays averaging around €700 per night in high season, we developed a custom booking flow that allowed guests to secure reservations with a deposit, with the balance automatically charged before arrival. This reduced booking friction while giving the resort full control over payments, reminders, and scheduling. The system also encouraged customers to book directly with the resort.

Results

The new website immediately boosted direct bookings and reduced dependency on OTAs, allowing Encosta do Lago to keep more revenue in-house while strengthening direct relationships with guests. The modern design improved customer trust and satisfaction, while the optimized booking flow increased conversion rates. Today, the resort benefits from a platform that delivers higher profits and greater control over their operations.
